Friends – You may recall that there was a ballot issue right before Covid changed the way my business and seemingly every other business in America operated. It passed. Then COVID happened. Several of you asked “Where’s the beer? I voted for it!” I appreciated the votes then as much as I do now – the votes for, and the votes against. I wanted to be sure to move forward in a way that respects what Village is for many – the place they’ve gathered with friends and family for years, or the place you discovered one day while you were checking out our great little village.

Let me discuss briefly what is not happening – I am not hanging neon signs advertising beer and wine in the restaurant. I certainly could, I choose not to. We are not going to be hard selling beer or wine. Our license allows for us to sell liquor, beer, and wine. We are not selling liquor at this time. We are not going to stay open any later than we otherwise would have in hopes that people will get rowdy and obnoxious. That isn’t a good look on anyone.

I respect that some people are apprehensive about change so let me tell you what IS happening – there are table tents at each table listing what beers and wine are available. We will have a rotating selection. At this time all beer is in cans or bottles and all wine is in single serve containers. We are checking IDs. We are not serving people who have already been overserved elsewhere. We’ve had very friends catch up over dinner and a glass of wine. We’ve had folks drink a beer or two with wings. If you’ve been here in the last year, you were likely dining at the same time someone else was drinking a beer or enjoying a glass of wine. The feeling of the restaurant is not going to change. Village is a restaurant that happens to serve beer and wine (and mimosas at breakfast!).

If you have questions, please ask me.

Until next we meet at Village, Cheers! (whether with sweet tea or cold beer is your choice)
